Meaningful message

Richie and I were never really close, but I always knew he was a great person with a big heart. Richie and I went to college together and hung out in groups of people a lot my freshman year and his sophomore year. He was always making people laugh and whenever Richie was around you were bound to have a great time. That's the side of Richie I knew until about a year ago. Last September my mother passed away from cancer and it was a very tough time for me. I havnt seen nor talked to Richie in a while until he reached out. I was lying in my bed reading for school, falling asleep as my eyes felt like 100 pounds. I heard a ringtone indicating I had a message and looked on my phone to see Richie's name pop up. He sent me one of the nicest and most memorable messages I've ever received. " Krista, how are you doing? I just wanted to tell you that your awesome, strong and an inspiration to me". Just reading those three words touched my heart and that message will stick with me forever. Like I said, Richie and I were never that close, but I am grateful I got to know those two sides of Richie, the fun outgoing guy, and then the guy with the biggest heart. My thoughts and prayers go out to his family and may he rest in the sweetest peace.
