SHREWSBURY- Kenneth J. "Kenny" Mangan, Sr. 89, of Grafton Street, Shrewsbury, died Monday, April 10th in the University Commons in Worcester after an illness.

He leaves his wife of 54 years, Priscilla A. (Nelson) Mangan; two sons, Kenneth J. Mangan, Jr., and his wife, Kathy of Shrewsbury, and Mark A. Mangan and his wife, Ann, of Northborough; four daughters, Laura C. Levins and her husband, Adolph of Shrewsbury, Patricia A. Mangan of Worcester, Maureen E. McHugh and her husband, Kevin of Peabody, and Kelly A. Sampson and her husband, Ricki of Holden; a sister, Nadine Henderson of Northborough; 10 grandchildren, Thomas, Ryan, Daniel, Kyle, Connor, Lauren, Patrick, Erin, Sean, Matthew; also survived by several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a son, Michael Mangan.

Kenneth was born in Clinton, son of the late Michael J. and Laura (Toner) Mangan and had lived in Shrewsbury for 44 years. Mr. Mangan graduated from Classical High School and attended the University of Miami and Holy Cross College. He was a proud W.W. II U.S. Army Air Corp Veteran having served in London from 1942 until 1945.

Mr. Mangan worked as a Labor Staff Representative for many years for the United Way of Central Massachusetts before he retired. He also served as Secretary for the Worcester-Framingham Labor Council AFL-CIO.

He was a member of Saint Mary's Parish in Shrewsbury and a member of the Shrewsbury Democratic Town Committee. His other memberships include being a member of the Board of Trustees at Worcester State College and the Vernon Hill American Legion Post # 435 both in Worcester.

Relatives and friends are invited to visit with Kenneth' family on Monday, April 17th from 5-8 P.M. in the Britton-Shrewsbury Funeral Home, 648 Main Street, Shrewsbury. His funeral Mass will be celebrated on Tuesday, April 18th at 10 A.M. in Saint Mary's Church, 640 Main Street, Shrewsbury. Burial will be in Mountain view Cemetery, Shrewsbury. Memorial contributions in his memory can be made to the United Way of Central Massachusetts, Denholm Building, Suite 300, 484 Main Street, Worcester, MA 01608.
