Dorothy H  Dobson
SHREWSBURY- Dorothy H. “ Dot” (Conlon) Dobson, 84, of Shrewsbury passed away peacefully Saturday, November 7, 2015 in the Lutheran Rehabilitation and Nursing Center in Worcester surrounded by her loving family.

Dot was born in Boston, daughter of the late James and Margaret (Stobo) Conlon and graduated from Brookline High School in 1950. When she was in high school she met and dated a very handsome classmate by the name of Arthur Dobson, this would be the man that she married in 1952. They moved to Shrewsbury in 1957 where they started their family and have enjoyed living for the past 58 years.

Dot had worked as a librarian at the Shrewsbury Public Library in the Children’s Room for 21 years before she retired. Not only was Dot a great librarian for the community kids; she also was an awesome mother, and “Nani” to her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Later in life she became a volunteer at the Shrewsbury Senior Center for over 5 years.

She leaves her husband and best friend of 63 years, Arthur R. Dobson; three daughters, Kathleen M. Fontaine of Shrewsbury, Cheryl A. Wieland of Florida and Deborah J. Dobson of Portland, OR; ten grandchildren, Adriana Grillo, Louis Falcon, Alison Stoothoff, Rachel and Greg Goodwin, Maia and Alex Chong, Rebecca, Racheal and Kyle Tanner; eight great grandchildren; two sisters, Nancy Poulter of Dedham and Claire Mitchell of Canton and a sister-in-law, Maisie Colon of Dedham; also survived by many niece and nephews.

The Dobson family wishes to thank the staff at St. Vincent Dialysis Center; the entire staff at the Lutheran Rehabilitation and Skilled Care Center and the nursing staff of the Compassionate Care Hospice for all their wonderful care shown to Dorothy and her family during her illness.

Relatives and friends are invited to visit with Dorothy’s family on Tuesday, November 10, 2015 from 4-8 PM in the BRITTON-SHREWSBURY FUNERAL HOME, 648 Main St, Shrewsbury. Funeral services for Dorothy will be held privately at a later date. Memorial donations can be made to Compassionate Care Hospice, 691 Grafton St, Worcester, MA 01604.
