Obituary for Anna N. Rallis

AUBURN-Anna N. Rallis passed away on Friday, March 13, 2015, after a valiant battle with cancer. She is survived by her loving husband of 51 years, Nicholas Rallis; her devoted son, John Rallis and his wife Erini of Sutton; her beloved daughter, Diane Rallis of Auburn; her daughter-in-law, Motoko K. Rallis of Washington; her adored grandchildren, Anna and William Rallis of Sutton; two sisters and a brother in Greece and several nieces and nephews. Her beloved oldest son, William Rallis, predeceased her in 2001.
Anna was born in Athens, Greece on December 31, 1942, the daughter of Yianni and Eleni Tzanetis. She studied seamstressing and received a diploma from a vocational institution in Athens, Greece. She and her husband owned a children’s shoe business in Greece before immigrating to the United States in 1970. She worked at Parker Manufacturing and then at H.H. Brown Shoe in Worcester for many years. When the factory moved, Anna opened John’s House of Pizza in Millbury, which she operated for over 30 years. She worked incredibly hard all her life and truly made a difference in the many lives that she touched.
She was the center of her family’s world and led them with incredible strength, humor and grace. She was a renaissance woman, a talented cook and seamstress. Anna loved life and her family deeply and those that knew her will never forget her warmth and kindness.
Relatives and friends are invited to celebrate Anna’s life on Monday, March 16, 2015 from 4:00 until 8:00 PM in the Britton-Wallace Funeral Home, 91 Central Street, Auburn where a Trisagion service will be held during that time. Her funeral service will be held Tuesday, March 17, 2015 at 11:00AM in St. Spyridon Greek Orthodox Cathedral, 102 Russell Street, Worcester. Burial will follow in Hillside Cemetery, Auburn. Flowers may be sent or donations may be made to the American Cancer Society, 30 Speen Street, Framingham, MA 01701.
