I met Julie when she was 13 years old. She grabbed a piece of my heart right then and there. She was like a little sister and as the years passed, she became my dear friend and my confidant. She was family. There is space inside of me that is 'Julie-shaped" - a piece of the puzzle of my heart that no one else will ever be able to fill - the Julie shape/space. I was better for knowing her- she inspired me; I don't know that I would ever have been able to live the life that she did. Her impish smile brightened this world. I loved her deeply and I am so glad that she knew it - and that I told her so often and genuinely. I hope she has strong legs now with which to walk with and healthy eyes so that she can see clearly - although she had a certain clear "sight" anyway. I hope she has a new set of Mickey Mouse ears that she picked up at Disneyland ( because certainly there must be a Disneyland where she is!)
