James B. “Jim” Reynolds, Jr., 48, of Shrewsbury, passed away on Sunday, November 9, 2014 at UMass Memorial Medical Center- Memorial Campus after a short illness.

He was predeceased by his father, James B. Reynolds, Sr., who died on April 9, 1991. James is survived by his mother, Helen F. Reynolds of Shrewsbury; his daughter, Rosemarie "Katie" Reynolds of Northampton, his son, Timothy Alan Reynolds of Shrewsbury; two sisters, Susan Morrison and her husband, James of Medford and Judy Best of Holden; his former wife, Laura Nelson; also survived by many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces , nephew and friends.

Jim was a graduate of Shrewsbury High School in 1984. He had worked for several years for many of the area supermarkets and was an avid sports fan.

Heartfelt thanks goes out to his primary care physician Dr. Deborah Hazen for all the care and support she had provided and, to the Critical Care Unit at U-Mass Memorial Hospital for their superb care and compassion they gave during this very difficult time.

Relative and friends are invited to gather at Saint Mary’s Church, 640 Main Street, Shrewsbury on Thursday, November 13, 2014 where his funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11AM. Burial will be private in Mountain View Cemetery, Shrewsbury at a later date. Memorial donations in James’s memory can be made to The Barton Center for Diabetes Education, Inc., P.O.
