Obituary for Marie C. DiPilato (Morin)

Marie C.  DiPilato (Morin)
- Marie C. (Morin) DiPilato, 76,lifelong resident of Auburn died Friday, November 7, 2014 in the Life Care Center of Auburn surrounded by her loving family after a courageous battle with lung cancer.

Marie leaves her friend and husband of 57 years, Frank J. DiPilato; a son, John F. DiPilato of Thompson, Ct, a daughter, Ann M. Taylor and her husband, Richard of Worcester; four grandchildren, Jessica Joslyn, Kerri Charbonneau, Garrett and Madison DiPilato; two great grandchildren, Faith and Michael Joslyn; and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by five brothers, Edgar, Wilfred, Leo, Norman and Robert Morin and a sister, Lucille Kennedy.

She was born and raised in Auburn, daughter of the late Wilfred and Corrine L. (Martin) Morin. She graduated from Auburn High School and then entered the nursing program at The David Hale Fanning Trade School in Worcester.

Marie was a Licensed Practical Nurse for over thirty years at Saint Vincent Hospital; she later practiced at CMMIC for ten years before she retired. After retiring, she and her husband, Frank traveled extensively throughout the continental United States and Europe.

In addition to her work in the nursing field, she also enjoyed golfing and held a membership at the Westborough County Club. Bowling was another enjoyment that Marie had however, times spent with her family and friends were the most cherished moments.

She was a member of the Saint Joseph’s Parish in Auburn.

Her family would like to offer their gratitude to the entire staff at Central Mass Hospice, especially to Lynn Cady, RN, who was extraordinary with her compassion, kindness and caring to Marie and her family through this difficult time. Also, Marie’s family wishes to thank the staff of Ichabod Washburn House Hospice and The Life Care Center of Auburn for the wonderful care during her stay.

Relatives and friends are invited to visit with Marie’s family on Tuesday, November 11, 2014 from 9:30 -10:30 AM in the Britton-Wallace Funeral Home, 91 Central Street, Auburn. Her funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11:00AM in Saint Joseph’s Church, 189 Oxford St North, Auburn. Burial will follow in Hillside Cemetery, Auburn. Memorial contributions can be made to the American Cancer Society, 30 Speen St, Framingham, MA 01701.
