WORCESTER-Mary (Sakalauskus) Paskavitz, of Worcester, died Saturday July 12, 2014 in UMASS-Memorial Medical Center, University Campus, surrounded by her daughters, Eleanor and Patricia, and two of her grandchildren, Kevin and Kimberly. Mary was born on February 26, 1915 and would have celebrated her 100th birthday next year.
Her soul mate of 69 years, Joseph B. Paskavitz, died in 2007
Mary is survived by two daughters, Eleanor, wife of Dennis A. Dailida of Auburn and Patricia, wife of Frank Allelunas of Warminster, PA., a sister-in-law, Dorothy, Olen of Holden; 4 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren; nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Paskavitz was a former member of St. Casimir’s Parish, a former member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 3657.
Mary was very creative in crafts, she was especially known for her hand knitted pen holders, and cell phone covers. She spent countless hours playing bingo and watching her favorite team the Boston Red Sox. But most important of all Mary cherished the time she spent with her beloved daughters, sons-in-laws, grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend visiting hours on Friday July 18, 2014 from 4-7 PM in the Britton-Wallace Funeral Home, 91 Central Street, Auburn. Her funeral will be held on Saturday from the funeral home with a funeral Mass celebrated at 10 a.m. in St. John’s Church, 44 Temple Street. Burial will follow in Notre Dame Cemetery, Worcester. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Food for the Poor, 40 Temple Street, Worcester, MA 01604 “A very special Thank you to the 3rdth floor staff at Jewish Health Care in Worcester for the exceptional care and friendships given to Mary.”
