Obituary for Lawrence G. "Larry" Duquette

NORTHBOROUGH - Lawrence (Larry) G. Duquette, 74, of Northborough died peacefully March 26, 2013 surrounded by his family at the Rose Monahan Hospice Home in Worcester after a courageous battle with cancer.

Larry leaves his loving wife of 53 years, Carole Ann (Williams) Duquette, and their three children - Robin A. Duncan and her husband David of Gardner; Lisa M. Fuller and her husband Brian of Attleboro; and Michael L. Duquette and his wife Nanette of Shrewsbury. He also leaves his eight grandchildren - Michael, DeAnne, Faith, and Bobby Duquette; Sean and Michael Duncan; Brian and Meagan Fuller; and a sister Carol Fahler of Las Vegas, as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Larry was born in Warwick, RI, the son of Lawrence E. and Gilberte C. (Lebel) Duquette. He attended parochial high school in Phillipsburg, NJ, earned a BS in Chemistry from the University of Rhode Island in 1960, and served as a Captain in the US Army. He settled and raised his family in Maynard, MA where they lived for 30 years, relocating to Northborough in 1993. Larry's career as a research chemist spanned working many years for Dow Chemical Co. and Research Biomedical, retiring in 2009. He was an avid collector of stamps, baseball cards, coins, comic books, etc. and he spent countless hours piecing together memories of his childhood and family genealogy.

Larry was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, son, brother, and friend who cherished his family, never missing any activity and accomplishment achieved by his wife, children, and grandchildren. Whether it was in the stands at a football, soccer or LAX field; track arena, basketball court or hockey rink; the seats in a theater, dance recital, pageant, awards or graduation ceremony - the number one fan was always there because Larry wouldn't miss a memory for anything. He also loved spending time with his wife watching the RedSox, going out to dinner and the movies, traveling and sightseeing. He was a kind and compassionate man who dedicated his life to his wife and family. Larry was loved by all who knew him and leaves them all with lasting memories of his magnetic personality, zest for life, friendship, legacy and love.
