AUBURN-Raymond T. Giddings, Sr., 83, of Stoneville Heights, died Saturday, February 6th in the Life Care Center of Auburn, following a brief illness.

His wife, Dorothy L. (Steelman) Giddings died in 2008. He leaves his two sons, Raymond T. Giddings, Jr. of Springfield and James C. Giddings of Springfield. He was predeceased by his brother, Robert R. Giddings, Jr. He was born in Auburn, son of the late Robert R. Giddings, Sr. and Doris (Thursby) Giddings and has lived in Auburn for many years. He was a proud Army veteran of World War II, serving in the Asiatic Pacific Theater. Ray worked as a bus driver for the Worcester Regional Transit Authority for 23 years prior to his retirement. He was a member and Past Commander of the Chester P. Tuttle American Legion Post, and was a member of the Joel H. Prouty Masonic Lodge, Auburn.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend visiting hours on Saturday, February 13th from 2-4 PM in the Britton-Wallace Funeral Home, 91 Central St., Auburn, followed by a prayer service at 4 PM. A Masonic Ritual will be held during the visiting hours. Memorial donations may be made to the Shiner’s Hospitals.
