Obituary for Richard R Lyons

Richard L. “Dick” Lyons, 86, of Auburn, died unexpectedly Tuesday September 4, 2018.

Dick was born in Worcester son of the late Clarence and Mabel (Dumas) Lyons. He attended the Worcester schools and later served in the United States Army during the Korean War.

He had been employed in the Maintenance Department at Worcester Polytechnic Institute in Worcester for over twenty years before he retired.

He leaves his wife of 44 years, Mary E. (Martin) Lyons, a step-son, Charles V. Pennell and his wife Carol of Worcester and many grandchildren and great grandchildren. He was predeceased by three step-daughters, Darlene Saucier, Elizabeth A. Dubuque and Mary Jane Stanley.

Relatives and friends are invited to visit with Dick’s family on Sunday, September 9, 2018 from 2-4 pm in the BRITTON-WALLACE FUNERAL HOME, 91 Central Street, Auburn. A prayer service will be held on Monday at the funeral home at 10 am. Burial will follow in Hillside Cemetery, Auburn.
