Obituary for Mary B. "Bobbie" Cron (Barbour)
Mary (Barbour) Cron, of Auburn, affectionately known as “Bobbie” by many, died peacefully on Monday, August 6, 2018 at the age of 88 at the Life Care Center of Auburn. She was the wife of the late Donald E. Cron.
Born in Alberton, Prince Edward Island, Canada, the daughter of the late Edward O. and Mary (Graves) Barbour, Mary followed her mother to the Auburn area as a young lady and graduated from Commerce High School. During her career, Mary was employed by the Bullock Insurance Agency for approximately 8 years and by the Winchester Insurance Company for 14 years. Mary always found pleasure in caring for and spending time with her cat. She also looked forward to hearing about her friends’ pets and supported many animal rescue leagues.
Survived by her dear friends Norma Malo, Marion Grundberg, Scott Winchester, Bruce Dillaire, and several nieces and nephews, including her niece Frances Barbour of Summerside, PEI and her husband’s niece Sandra Marusa of Sutton. Mary was predeceased by her siblings Hilton Barbour and Alberta Hodgson.
The family and friends of Mary would like to express a heartfelt thank you to all the staff of Life Care Center of Auburn for their kind care, support and friendship.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend visiting hours on Monday, August 13, 2018 beginning at 10:00 AM at the Hadwen Park Congregational Church, 6 Clover Street, Worcester followed by her Funeral Service at 11:00 AM. Burial will follow in All Faiths Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made in her memory to Hadwen Park Congregation Church, 6 Clover Street, Worcester, MA 01603 or to Auburn VNA Extended Care, 191 Pakachoag Street, Auburn, MA 01501.
