Leon Paradise Jr.
Leon W. Paradise, Jr., 78, of Auburn died peacefully on Monday, July 9, 2018 with his loving wife at his side at St. Vincent Hospital in Worcester.
Born in Worcester, he was raised and educated in Auburn, son of the late Leon W., Sr. and Elizabeth (Gibbons) Paradise. Following graduation from Auburn High, class of 1958, Leon enlisted to serve our country in the United States Army National Guard.
All the while he became fascinated with and learned all he could about cars and trucks and soon maintaining and repairing them was more than just a job for him. He not only gained so much knowledge, but he became very talented with repairing and restoring cars and heavy trucks. Over the years, his love for automobiles grew as he truly became well respected for his skill and knowledge of what made these classic cars so special and of such interest to him. Of late, Leon was still enjoying his time working on cars as he was keeping busy restoring three cars. In his humorous way, Leon liked to spend time cutting up pallets to burn in his stove as his contribution to recycling.
In addition to his wife of 42 years, Maureen E. (McGrath) Paradise, Leon is survived by his siblings, Donna Fant and her husband Allen of Sutton, Diane Bergin and her husband Dennis of Rochdale, Earl Paradise and his wife Lorraine of Charlton, David Paradise and his partner Susan of Auburn, and Linda Warpula and her husband Gerald of Rutland, and many nieces and nephews.
Services for Leon will be held privately at his request. In lieu of flowers donation may be made in Leon’s memory to the American Cancer Society, 30 Speen Street, Framingham, MA 01701 and to the Diabetes Association, 260 Cochituate Road #200, Framingham, MA 01701.
