Obituary for Anne Marie Hosking (Choiniere)

Anne Marie Hosking (Choiniere)
Anne Marie (Choiniere) Hosking, 89 of Shrewsbury, died peacefully at her home on Monday, May 7, 2018.

Anne was the beloved wife of the late Richard (Dick) Hosking for 61 years. She leaves loving children Jane Palermo, Pamela Mallette and Bernard Hosking, all of Shrewsbury, and Maureen Fox and her husband, Jonathan, of New York City. She was the sister of the late Paul Choiniere and his late wife Mary, formerly of Eden Prairie, MN and Richard Choiniere and his wife Joanne, of St. Johnsbury, VT. She is survived by nine cherished grandchildren and nine adored great-grandchildren.

The daughter of the late Romuald and Yvonne Choiniere, Anne was born and raised in St. Johnsbury, VT. After moving to Shrewsbury in 1956, Anne began a long and rewarding career with the American Telephone and Telegraph Company (AT&T). She retired from AT&T in the late 1980s.

Anne’s world revolved around her loving family. She had a special gift for creating joy for everyone around her no matter the occasion. Anne brought everyone together. She was at her happiest during the many large gatherings when surrounded by her husband, children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. Her family was her greatest passion and pride. She could often be found enjoying dinner out – Giovanni’s, The Stockyard, Anthony’s Pier 4 and Wright’s Chicken Farm were among her favorite dining spots. She also loved visiting Cape Cod and dining at The Chart Room. Anne had an unparalleled sweet tooth and was especially fond of chocolates, ice cream and Italian cookies.

Calling hours for Anne will be on Friday, May 11, 2018 from 10:00 – 11:30 AM in the BRITTON-SHREWSBURY FUNERAL HOME, 648 Main Street, Shrewsbury, with a funeral Mass to follow at St. Mary’s Church, 640 Main Street, Shrewsbury at 12:00 PM. Burial will follow in Mountain View Cemetery, Shrewsbury.
