MARLBOROUGH - Rita I. Cenik, loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and sister, peacefully passed on Thursday February 15 with her loving family by her side.

She is survived by her two children Lynne Fenuccio and her husband John of Shrewsbury and son Ronald Cenik and his wife Gail of Lowell; 5 grandchildren: John E. Fenuccio, Lauren A. Duffy, Matthew D. Fenuccio, Stephen R. Cenik and Julie M. Cenik. She was predeceased by beloved grandson Christopher M. Cenik. Rita was blessed with four great-grandchildren: Clara Fenuccio, Everett Duffy, Kristina and Miles Otero. Rita also leaves five surviving sisters: Constance Hutchinson of Spokane WA, Barbara Oymaian of Palm Harbor FL, Nancy Scroggins of Marino Valley CA, Lois Dodier of Harwich and Judith Fenuccio of Mashpee. She was predeceased by brother Joseph “Buddy” LaMarche.

Rita loved Cape Cod and enjoyed many happy years at her home in Harwich before returning to Central Mass. to be closer to her family. She then settled in at New Horizons in Marlborough where she maintained an active lifestyle and made many new friends.

Rita’s happiest and most fulfilling times were spent with her cherished family and took special pleasure in being a great-grandmother.

Rita’s family would also like to send special thanks to those at Rose Monahan Hospice Home for not only providing amazing care but for making her final days comfortable and dignified.

Rita’s funeral Mass will be celebrated on Tuesday Feb. 20, 2018 at 10 AM at St. Mary of the Hills Church, 630 Cross St, Boylston with burial to follow at Mountain View Cemetery in Shrewsbury. Family and friends may pay their respects from 4-7 PM Monday Feb. 19, 2018 at Britton-Shrewsbury Funeral Home, 648 Main St, Shrewsbury.
