Obituary for Andrew "Andy" Sluckis Sr.

Andrew "Andy"  Sluckis Sr.
Andrew “Andy” J. Sluckis, Sr., of Auburn, MA passed away unexpectedly at home October 31, 2017.

He was a devoted husband to his best friend and wife of 37 years, Kathleen A. (Turnbull) Sluckis who preceded him in death. He is survived by two sons, Andrew J. Sluckis Jr., and John A. Sluckis and his wife Sharon; two grandsons Drew and Nick Sluckis of Leicester whom he cherished very much; also survived by a brother George Mange, and two nephews Christopher and Matthew Mange of Sutton. Besides his wife Kathleen, Andy was predeceased by his mother, Anna (Cesnickas) Mange.

He retired from the Worcester Police Department and currently worked at the Worcester County Sheriff's Department in the civil processing division.

Andy was a member of St. Stephen Parish in Worcester, the Auburn/Webster Lodge of Elk's # 2118, the Retired State, County and Municipal Employees Association of Massachusetts, Maironis Park in Shrewsbury and he served on the executive board of the Worcester Retired Police and Firefighters Association.

Andy enjoyed traveling to Florida and spending time at Misquamicut Beach in Rhode Island. He was a local fixture in Auburn and Worcester making daily special deliveries to those fortunate enough to have him in their lives. He was known for being selfless, kind and giving. Andy will be missed by a lot of people.

Relatives and friends are invited to visit with Andy’s family on Sunday, November 5, 2017 from 2:00-6:00 pm in the BRITTON-WALLCE FUNERAL HOME, 91 Central Street, Auburn. His funeral will be on Monday November 6, 2017 with a funeral Mass celebrated at 11:00 am in St. Stephen Church, 357 Grafton Street, Worcester (please kindly go directly to church). Burial will follow in Notre Dame Cemetery, Worcester. The family requests in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Our Lady of Providence Parish, 236 Lincoln Street, Worcester, MA 01605 where all donations will go towards Youth Ministry.
