Obituary for Vincent P. "Vin" Flynn

Vincent P. "Vin"  Flynn
Vincent P. “Vin” Flynn, 81, a lifelong resident of Shrewsbury passed away Wednesday October 25, 2017 in his home surrounded by his loving family.
He was born in Worcester, son of the late Daniel and Molly (Wells) Flynn. He graduated from Shrewsbury High School and then he was drafted into the United States Army where he was honorably discharged in 1961. He married his wife Filomena in 1962 and they started their family on Grafton Street where he has lived all his life.
Vin owned and operated V.P. Flynn Plumbing and Heating, serving clients in Shrewsbury and many other communities throughout the Worcester County area for over 45 years. In his later years, Vin continued to work in the plumbing business with his sons Bill and Tom. Vin also enjoyed golf and was willing to play whenever the opportunity presented itself.
His wife of 49 years Filomena (Mastrogiovanni) Flynn died in 2011. He leaves his devoted children, Christine M. Davolio and her husband, Frank of Shrewsbury, Maureen A. Massad and her husband, Paul of Boylston, Thomas J. Flynn and his wife, Tara of Hubbardston, William P. Flynn of Millbury and David M. Flynn of Shrewsbury; seven beautiful grandchildren, Ryan, Samantha, Brody, Kaden, Nicole, Ashley and Joseph; four siblings, Lawrence Flynn of Shrewsbury, Dorothy Mastrovito of Florida, Daniel Flynn of Shrewsbury and Patricia Yeomans of Grafton and several nieces and nephews. Besides his wife Filomena, he was predeceased by a brother, Richard Flynn.

Relatives and friends are invited to visit with Vin’s family on Monday, October 30, 2017 from 5-8 PM in the BRITTON-SHREWSBURY FUNERAL HOME, 648 Main Street, Shrewsbury. His funeral will be held on Tuesday, October 31, 2017 from the funeral home with a funeral Mass celebrated at 10 AM in Saint Mary’s Church, 17 Waterville Street, North Grafton. Burial will be in Mountain View Cemetery, Shrewsbury. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Saint John’s Food for the Poor, 20 Temple Street, Worcester, MA 01604.
