Lucie (Chenier) Openshaw, 86, of Auburn died at home on Wednesday, September 21, 2016 surrounded by loving family.

Lucie was born in Hull, P.Q. Canada in 1929 she was the daughter of Joseph and Mary Ann (Heaphy) Chenier. She was educated in Canadian Schools.

Lucie worked in the Men’s department at the Sears in the Auburn Mall before she retired. Previously she worked at the former Fair Department Store in Worcester.

Lucie is survived by her devoted husband, William Openshaw Jr., daughters; Lynne Openshaw and Sharon Soponski of Auburn and a son, David K. Openshaw of Worcester. She was predeceased by twin son, Robert A. and Richard W. Openshaw; four brothers, Aldrick, Marc, Edwin, and Athol and three sisters, Verna, Priscilla, and Alma. She was adored by her ten grandchildren; Jason, Dawn, Lindsey, Matthew, Lauren, Samantha, Joshua, Ramsey, Abigail, and Rebekah; nine great grandchildren; Arianna, Dominic, Skyelynn, Mason, Jiovanni, Mackenzie, Brooklyn, Lily, and Dillan and many nieces, nephews and friends.

Lucie enjoyed spending time with her family, traveling to southern coast of Maine, as well as knitting, and crocheting.

Relatives and friends are invited to visit with Lucie’s family on Sunday, September 25, 2016 from 2 to 5pm at BRITTON-WALLACE FUNERAL HOME 91 Central Street, Auburn. Lucie’s life will be celebrated on Monday, September 26, 2016 at 10 AM in the BRITTON-WALLACE FUNERAL HOME, 91 Central St, Auburn. Burial will be private.
