The Memorial Candle Program has been designed to help offset the costs associated with the hosting this Tribute Website in perpetuity. Through the lighting of a memorial candle, your thoughtful gesture will be recorded in the Book of Memories and the proceeds will go directly towards helping ensure that the family and friends of Paul Bento can continue to memorialize, re-visit, interact with each other and enhance this tribute for future generations.

Thank you.

Condolence: As a young English teacher I joined a Decennial Visiting Committee in R.I. and Paul was our chair. It may have been his first as a chair. I tried hard to model his friendly, supportive, intelligent manner in all of my work with the NEAS&C and as a teacher and administrator over the next decades. I am very thankful that I had Paul as a mentor and friend. I hope that Paul’s family can take solace in the knowledge that Paul’s influence lives on in our minds and hearts.

Condolence: My deepest sympathies and prayers are with you. Mr. Bento was one of my teachers, and a fellow Friar. He made physics fun and interesting. I still use dome of the things he taught me when I teach, of all things, kayak rolling to wounded soldiers.

Condolence: I met Paul when he hired me to teach at Keefe in 1999. His intelligence, sincerity and kindness shone forth always. He treated everyone with respect and compassion, whether you were "important"or not, you got a fair shake from Paul Bento. I'll never forget his speech to the staff on my very first day as a teacher. He admitted that, even after so many years as an educator, he still couldn't sleep the night before the first day of school! Many of us will be thinking of him fondly as we start this new school year. Heartfelt condolences to his family for your loss.

Condolence: Paul Bento was a wonderful teacher who inspired a love of Science in me. He had a definite influence on my teaching and his kindness and patience were motivational to me in the way I worked with my own students. I enjoyed running into him from time to time when he was at Keefe and I was at the McAuliffe Center at Framingham State. My condolences to his family. You are in my thoughts and prayers.

Condolence: Our condolences to Susan and Family on the death of Paul. Paul, a strong academic teacher, made the connection between a strong academic curriculum and the need to apply academics to and through Vocational Education. Paul was a great help to me when I became a teacher at Hopkinton High School in 1968, with no teaching credentials.

Our prayers are with you.
