Obituary for Paul H. Couture Jr.

SHREWSBURY-Paul H. Couture, Jr., 69 of Shrewsbury died Saturday July 23, 2016 in Shrewsbury Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. Surrounded by his loving wife and family, he passed peacefully after a long, difficult illness.

He was born in Worcester, son of the late Paul H. Couture, Sr., and Martha (Labossiere) Couture. Paul graduated from Shrewsbury High School in 1965.

Paul had been employed in the banking field for many years working at various banks throughout Massachusetts in the loan workout departments and he ended his career with the FDIC in Franklin, MA in the same field.

He cherished spending time with his grandchildren. He enjoyed nature, being at the beach (summer or winter), and tending to his yard and flower gardens.

Paul leaves his loving wife of 33 years, Lynn M. (Landry) Couture; his children, John Couture and his wife, Jodi of Shrewsbury, Paulette Racicot of Holden and Lisa Stewart and her partner, Lee Klein of Auburn; two step-children, Francis “Buddy” Beckwith and his partner, Cathy Ramirez of Worcester and Jacqueline M. Meninno of Marlboro; his siblings David Couture and his wife, Debbi, Nancy Gallien and her husband, Wilfrid, and Maureen Ekblom all of Shrewsbury, Paula Roland and her husband Donald of Florida, Martha Couture of Sturbridge and half-sister, Michelle Pimental. Paul is also survived by twelve grandchildren and many nieces, nephews and friends.

Paul’s wife would like to thank the many wonderful staff members, from Summit Elder Care to his nursing facilities, who greatly assisted her in his care in the last few years.

Relatives and friends are invited to visit with Paul’s family on Saturday, August 6, 2016 when Words of Remembrance will be shared from 9:30am until 10:00am in the BRITTON-SHREWSBURY FUNERAL HOME, 648 Main St, Shrewsbury. Calling hours will begin at 10:00 until 12 noon. A funeral Mass celebrating Paul’s life will be at 12:30pm in Saint Mary’s Church, 640 Main Street, Shrewsbury. Burial will be at a later date.
