SHREWSBURY- Helen T. McCabe 92, a resident of Southgate at Shrewsbury died Friday, July 22, 2016 in her home.

Helen was born in Cambridge, MA and raised in both Cambridge and Watertown, daughter of the late Francis J. and Helen E. (Falvey) McCabe. She graduated from Watertown High School. Helen had lived in Waltham and Centerville before moving to Shrewsbury in 2009.

She had worked for over 40 years for the New England Telephone Company, serving as Manager of the Framingham and Milford Offices. She retired in 1985

Helen embraced a solid devotion to her faith, family and friends. She had a keen wit and enjoyed life. She traveled extensively, enjoyed playing golf and spending time on Cape Cod with her family.

Family was everything to Helen. She leaves behind a sister, Ann Corbett of Centerville; sister-in-law, Kay McCabe of Needham; many nieces and nephews that were like her own children, Maureen Haughey of Franklin, Kathleen McCabe of Holliston, Virginia McCabe of Needham, Patricia McCabe of Durham, NH, Dr. William Corbett and his wife, Colleen of West Boylston, Paul Corbett and his wife, Paula of Harleysville, PA and David Corbett and his wife, Viola of Medway. She is also survived by numerous grandnieces and grandnephews and many wonderful friends. She was predeceased by three brothers, Bernard, Francis and Jackie.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a funeral Mass celebrating Helen’s life on Saturday, July 30, 2016 at 12 NOON in the Chapel at the Southgate 30 Julio Drive, Shrewsbury. Burial will be private at a later date in Saint Paul’s Cemetery in Arlington, MA. BRITTON-SHREWSBURY FUNERAL HOME 648 Main St is assisting the McCabe family with arrangements. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Jewish Healthcare Home Health and Hospice.
