Obituary for Joan C. Amato (Navin)

Joan C. (Navin) Amato, 84, a longtime resident of Stoneville Heights in Auburn died Friday, July 15, 2016 in UMASS Memorial Medical Center University Campus after a period of declining health.

She was born in Worcester daughter of the late John and Jeanne (Comeau) Navin.

Joan had worked in the restaurant and hospitality industry for many years.

She leaves her children Leo M. Amato and his wife Marie of New Hampshire, John F. Amato and his wife Carol of Worcester and Jacqueline A. Poulin and her husband, James of Auburn; eleven grandchildren, ten great grandchildren, a sister, Virginia Urso of Auburn and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by two brothers, John and Thomas Navin.

The Amato family wishes to thank the Auburn Fire and Police Departments for all their help throughout Joan’s illness’s and the Nurses and Doctors at UMASS- University Campus for their wonderful care that was extended to Joan.

Relatives and friends are invited to visit with Joan’s family on Wednesday, July 20, 2016 from 5:00-7:00 pm in the BRITTON-WALLACE FUNERAL HOME, 91 Central Street, Auburn. A prayer service will begin at 7:00pm. Burial will be at a later date. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to National Center for Missing & Exploited Children, Charles B. Wang International Children’s Building, 699 Prince St, Alexandria, VA 22314-3175.
