SHREWSBURY- Phyllis J. Wright, 96, of Shrewsbury died Thursday, April 28, 2016 surrounded by her loving family.

She was born in Worcester, daughter of the late James F. Wright, Sr., and Catherine (Sullivan) Wright. Phyllis graduated from North High School where she was a member of the first female crew team.

Phyllis had worked for over 40 years for the family company, Wright Fuel Company. She retired from the UMASS –University Hospital in 1995.

Phyllis was predeceased by nine brothers, Walter, Henry, James, Chester, Paul, Fred, George, Willard, and Richard and three sisters, Grace, Olive, and Kathryn and her special friend, Freddie Johnson. She is survived by her loving and devoted nieces and nephews and grandnieces and grandnephews.

Relatives and friends are invited to visit with Phyllis’s family on Monday, May 2, 2016 from 9:30-10:30AM in the BRITTON-SHREWSBURY FUNERAL HOME, 648 Main Street, Shrewsbury. Her funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11:00AM at Saint Mary’s Church, 640 Main Street, Shrewsbury. Burial will follow in Mountain View Cemetery, Shrewsbury.
