Celia M. (Keisling) Cassanelli, 95, formerly of Shrewsbury, devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother died April 12, 2016 peacefully.

She was predeceased by her husband, Peter J. Cassanelli,who died in 1998. She leaves a son, Peter J. Cassanelli, Jr. of Marlboro; five grandchildren; six great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews; a brother John T. Keisling of Worcester. She was also predeceased by her two daughters, Patricia Cassanelli and Phyllis Tambolleo of Shrewsbury; and a sister Irene Robio.

Mrs. Cassanelli was born and raised in Worcester, daughter of the late John and Mary (Riley) Keisling. She was Nursing Assistant at St. Vincent’s Hospital, later retiring in 1971.

She was a member of Saint Anne’s Church, Saint Anne’s Golden Age Club and the Friends of Shrewsbury. She was an extraordinary cook and lived for spending time with her family.

The family would like to thank the nurses, the administration, and all those who cared for Celia at Beaumont Rehabilitation Center.

Calling hour will be held on Saturday, April 16, 2016, from 9-10:30AM, in the BRITTON-SHREWSBURY FUNERAL HOME, 648 Main Street, Shrewsbury. Her funeral Mass will follow at 11 AM in Saint Anne’s Church, 130 Boston Turnpike, Shrewsbury. Burial will be in Mountain View Cemetery, Shrewsbury.
