MILLBURY- Kathleen S. “Kathy” (McDermott) Foster, 68, of Millbury died Tuesday, June 9, 2015 in Saint Vincent Hospital after an illness surrounded by her loving family.

She leaves her loving children, Kim Henrichon and her husband Al of Auburn, Chris Mitchell and her husband John of Holland and Scott Foster of Spencer; eight adored grandchildren, Nathan, Katelyn, Collin, Brooklyn, Gage, Alan, Kayla and Johnny; two great grandchildren, Kian and Braiden; and many wonderful friends, including Sue and Traci.

Kathy was born in Worcester, raised in Auburn, and later moved to Millbury in 1971. She was the daughter of the late Kenneth McDermott and Alice Janitis. She graduated from South High School in 1965 and later from Clark University with an Associate Degree in Business. Kathy continued her education and received a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering from Central New England College in 1981.

She had worked for Wyman Gordon for over 31 years, with her last position being a contract manager, a job that she enjoyed.

Kathy was a caring and outgoing person who went out of her way to help anyone. She was a fun loving member of the Red Hat Society. She enjoyed going to plays, musicals, traveling on day trips with her friends and family and going to the Cape. Her latest passion was quilting where she spent many hours making beautiful quilts for her family and friends. Her most enjoyable thing to do though was to spend time with her family and her dog Chloe. She will be missed deeply by all.

Relatives and friends are invited to gather and visit with Kathy’s family on Saturday, June 20, 2015 from 11:30 AM -1:30 PM in the Britton-Wallace Funeral Home, 91 Central St, Auburn. A service celebrating her life will follow at 1:30 PM. Burial will be private.
