Obituary for Merlin A. ""Moe"" Jamieson Sr.

CHERRY VALLEY/AUBURN-Merlin A. “Moe” Jamieson, Sr. passed away peacefully, Tuesday, April 7, 2015 surrounded by his family. His beloved wife, Idris “Helen” (Howard) Jamieson predeceased him in 2011. He is survived by 3 daughters: Kathleen Jamieson and her partner Jeffrey Burdett of Auburn, Nancy J. Burdett and her partner Paul Coderre of Auburn and Norine Curtin and her husband Rick of Spencer; two sons: Merlin A. Jamieson, Jr. of GA and Lyle Hegarty of Worcester; his sister and caretaker, Sandy Hidenfelter and her husband Paul of Cherry Valley; a sister-in-law, Norma Jamieson of Grafton and several grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. A son, John Hegarty and a brother, James H. Jamieson predeceased him.

He was born and raised in Worcester the son of Merlin A. and Loretta (Delaire) Jamieson where he graduated South High School and was a member of the Civil Air Patrol before enlisting in the US Air Force. Moe served his country in the Korean War as military police and was stationed in England for four years. Merlin also worked as a machinist for Thermo Electron in Auburn for many years until his retirement.

Services will be private. Making a donation to Animal Rescue League, 139 Holden St., Worcester, MA 01606 would greatly honor his memory.
