Obituary for Cynthia H Brothers

Cynthia H  Brothers
Cynthia H. (Hardy) Brothers, 85, a resident of The Overlook in Charlton and former long-time Auburn resident died peacefully Thursday, February 19, 2015 at UMASS University Hospital in Worcester.
Her husband of 61 years, Earle L. Brothers died in 2013. She leaves three sons, David Brothers and his wife Andrea, and their sons Timothy and Daniel all of Douglas; Peter Brothers and his wife Lynn, and their daughter Mary of Holden; Joel Brothers and his wife Dianna, and their daughter Megan of Brookfield and son Michael of Worcester; a great grandson, Dakota; a sister, Virginia Fisher of North Carolina. She is also survived by one nephew and two nieces. She was predeceased by her son, Timothy Scott Brothers.
Cynthia was born in Worcester, daughter of the late William and Angie F. (Allen) Hardy. She graduated from North High School and Salter Secretarial School. She worked in the Assessor’s Office for the Town of Auburn and as a Collections Specialist in the medical field for many years until her retirement.
Cynthia was a member and past President of the Auburn Woman’s Club and a long-time member of the First Congregational Church in Auburn. She was an experienced quilter making many quilts for the Linus Project. She was also a founding member of the Linus Project Chapter at The Overlook. She enjoyed baking and playing cards. Cynthia and Earle travelled throughout the United States, Canada and abroad. One of their favorite trips was to China. They were also Florida snowbirds for many years.
Relatives and friends are invited to gather with family to honor and celebrate Cynthia’s life with a memorial service on Monday, March 2, 2015 at 11 AM in the James C. Niccoll Chapel of The Overlook Healthcare Center, 88 Masonic Home Road, Charlton. Burial will be private in the family lot at Hillside Cemetery in Auburn at a later date. Memorial contributions can be made to Project Linus National Headquarters, P.O. 5621, Bloomington, IL 61702-5621.
