Obituary for Jean I Bopp (Stenlund)

Jean I Bopp (Stenlund)
Jean I. (Stenlund) Bopp, 82, life-long resident of Auburn, gently passed away Sunday, February 15, 2015 at Southbridge Rehab & Healthcare Center, Southbridge, where she had resided since April. She was predeceased by her husband of 59 years, Paul F. Bopp, last September. She leaves her daughter Cynthia Bizzarro & her husband Anthony Bizzarro of Holden, her daughter Susan Scott & her husband Stevan Scott formerly of Auburn, 3 grandchildren Kimberlyn Evers, Timothy Scott and Gianna Bizzarro and 2 great grandsons Elijah & Benjamin. Though an only child, Jean considered her friend since childhood, Alice Hohler, a sister. Jean was the daughter of the late John A. & Alma (Kling) Stenlund and a beloved step-daughter of the late Elna Stenlund Johnson.

She was an Auburn High School and Becker College graduate. She spent most of her career as a medical secretary and then office manager at Worcester OB-GYN Associates, Worcester.

Playing the piano brought such joy to Jean and blessed those who listened. She accompanied soloists, choirs & congregations at Belmont St. Baptist Church, Worcester and Faith Baptist Church, Auburn. She loved to sing as well and her home was always filled with music.

Children held a special place in her heart (to which her grandchildren will attest) and she gave of her time & treasure to causes & ministries that impacted their lives.

Her caring for others and patient listening, as well as the insightful advice she gave, will be long remembered & greatly missed. Jean Bopp was a compassionate, wise woman whose gentle spirit & generous nature ministered to all who were blessed enough to know her.

Relatives & friends are invited to visit with Jean's family on Friday, February 20, 2015 from 10-11 AM in Britton-Wallace Funeral Home, 91 Central St. Auburn. A service celebrating her life will begin at 11 AM. Burial will be private. Making a donation to your favorite children's charitable organization would greatly honor her memory
