Obituary for John A. "Jack" Larson

John A. "Jack"  Larson
CHARLTON – John A. “Jack” Larson, 73, passed away quietly in his home on January 2, 2015 surrounded by his loving family.

John was a much loved husband, father, grandfather, uncle and friend. John is survived by the love of his life, wife of 48 years, Helen C. (Ahl) Larson; his daughter Catherine “Cuppa” Magdis and her husband, Joseph P. Magdis, his son, John A. Larson, Jr. and his wife, Kimberly Snow, his brothers, Carl H. Larson and wife, Ann, and Paul H. Larson and his wife Joanne Larson, his grandson, Zachary J. Magdis, who held a special place in his heart; his sister-in-law, Susan and husband, Jack Botsis, his brother-in-law Walter Ahl and Norma Ramelli, his nieces and nephews, Diane Parker, Nancy Mercedes, Joseph Baril, Susan Bottom, Joann Wagner, John Ramelli, Susan Christopher, Carla Botsis, Laura Botsis and many other family members he adored. He was predeceased by his sister, the late Mary Baril.

Born in Holden, he was the son of the Late Carl H. and Evelyn (Howard) Larson. John graduated from Wachusett Regional High School in Holden, the University of Massachusetts at Amherst, Northeastern University with a degree in Industrial Engineering and from WPI with a Masters Degree.

John was employed for 20 years as an industrial engineer for Norton/Saint Gobain. He also was employed by Dennison of Framingham. After John retired, he became interested in real estate and became a realtor. He was employed by ERA Key Realty in Oxford and Allworth Realty in Charlton.

John enjoyed watching his grandson play sports. He loved fishing and also golfing with his friends, Eddie and Randy. He was an avid fan of all New England sports teams.

Relatives and friends are invited to visit with John’s family on Wednesday, January 7, 2015 from 5-7 PM in the Britton- Wallace Funeral Home, 91 Central Street, Auburn. His funeral will be held on Thursday, January 8, 2015 with a funeral Mass celebrated at 10 AM at St. Joseph’s Church, 10 H Putnam Road Extension, Charlton. Burial will follow in Westridge Cemetery, Charlton. Flowers or donations may be made to the Disabled Veterans Nation Foundation Inc (www.dvnf.org).
