Obituary for Robert S. "Rob" Smith

AUBURN- Robert S. “Rob” Smith, Jr., 28, of Auburn, died suddenly due to an asthma attack.

Rob leaves his mother, Shirleyann M. Smith of Auburn; a sister, Alyssa K. Smith of Auburn; his grandparents, Margaret Smith of Auburn and Shirley Sewell and her husband, Harold of New Brunswick, Canada: his uncle, Gordon Smith and his wife, Shellie of Denton, Texas; his uncle, Raymond Stebbins of New Brunswick, Canada; his uncle Joseph C. Stebbins and his wife, Rena of Waldorf, Maryland; his uncle, Melvin Stebbins and his wife, Louise of New Brunswick, Canada; his aunt, Shirley N. Stebbins of New Brunswick, Canada; his cousins, William J. Stebbins and his fiancé Desiree Moore of Southbridge; Kaylie and Lydia Smith of Denton, Texas and Amanda, Jonathan and Dominic Stebbins of New Brunswick, Canada; his closest childhood friends, Alex Bylund and James Pollier both of Auburn and many other friends. He touched the life of a 7 year ole little boy, James, and his mother, Angela of Worcester. He was predeceased by his father, Robert S. Smith, Sr. and an uncle, Scott M. Stebbins.

He was born in Worcester and worked for the Grounds Department of the College of Holy Cross in Worcester. Robert previously worked for Millbury Ford Mercury in Auburn. He had a passion for music, calligraphy drawings, ice hockey and he loved spending time at the beach. Robert had a passion for helping others in need and had a gift for loving people, especially children. He loved reading his bible and attending both St. Thomas Church in Auburn and Liberty Church in Shrewsbury.

Relative and friends are invited to visit with Robert’s family on Saturday, December 20, 2014 from 2:00 -5:00 PM in the Britton-Wallace Funeral Home, 91 Central Street, Auburn. Robert’s funeral Service will be on Saturday, January 3, 2015 at 3 PM at St. Thomas Episcopal Church, 35 School Street, Auburn. Memorial donations in Robert’s memory can be made St. Thomas Church, 35 School Street, Auburn, MA 01501. The Britton-Wallace Funeral Home is honored to be assisting the Smith family with arrangements. To leave a note of condolence for the family
