Obituary for Charles E. Reed

Worcester-Charles E. Reed, 88, of Worcester, formerly of Shrewsbury, died Saturday in his home after a brief illness.
His wife of 55 years, Lorraine T. (Berthiaume) died in 2003
He leaves several nieces and nephews, and his extended family; Anne Schofield, her daughter Melissa, and her son Andrew, and Nicole and her son Joshua.
His sister Carol Henry predeceased him.
Charles was born and educated in Worcester. He was the son of the late Charles and Julia (Walinsky) Reed.
He served his country proudly in WWII as a member of the US Army. He was highly decorated for his service in the European Theatre.
Mr. Reed worked for the Worcester Regional Transit Authority as a street inspector for many years prior to retiring.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a calling hour from 10-11 AM in the Britton-Shrewsbury Funeral Home, 648 Main Street, followed by a brief service at 11 AM also in the funeral home. Burial with Military Honors will be in Mountain View Cemetery.
