Condolence: MY FRIEND

Loretta and I were buddies. We shared some good times together. We had some great scrabble games, and at the same time we'd eat a bunch of delicious muffins.

She loved her "girls". her grand children and of course her new great grandchild. She was very proud of each and every one of them.

I remember with such fondness each of the Christmas times over the years that we spent with the family. She would arrive at our front door with a huge bouquet of beautiful Christmas flowers. And of course that big smile. She was the only person I know who could smile with her eyes.

Living in Hopkinton, for many years we'd take our grandkids to the Boston Marathon, then home to have brownies and milk, then watch the baby blue birds who were hatching in my birdhouse on our deck. We'd have such fun !

She came to visit us up in Maine on one occasion and slept over. I'll always remember her in her pink flannel nightgown. She looked like a pretty doll. Loretta was a very pretty woman.

The last time I saw her was at our granddaughter Jeanne's wedding in Rockport. We talked our heads off, reminiscing about old times. I will miss her a lot, especially at Christmas time.

Rest in peace, my friend. Until we meet again.

Jean Nicholson
