Ann C. "Sis"  Gentesse
Ann C. “Sis” (Johnson) Gentesse, 90, of Worcester, died quietly at home on Wednesday, August 13, 2014.

Ann was born, raised and lived her entire 90 years in Worcester, daughter of the late Sigurd and Alice T. (McGuirk) Johnson. She graduated from Commerce High School. She married Alan H. Gentesse in 1946. They enjoyed their marriage, raising their daughter and a life together for 47 years before he died in 1993.

She is survived by her only daughter, Robin A. White and her husband, Roland of Auburn; three grandchildren, Alan White of Leicester, Kerri O’Keefe and her husband, Russell of Worcester and Nicole Murphy and her husband, Charles of Leicester; four great grandchildren, Samantha, Trevor, Liliana and Alexa; and her loving sister, Marie A. Johnson of Worcester. She was predeceased by four brothers, Albert, Donald, Robert and William Johnson.

Ann had worked for G.E.–Telechron for over 30 years before she retired in 1989. Ann dedicated her life to her entire family “Family was her Life” as she was quoted saying many times. She did find time to be involved with the Girl Scouts when her daughter was young and was an active member of the “Bell Hill Society”.

Relatives and friends are invited to visit with Ann’s family on Monday, August 18, 2014 from 4-7 PM in the Britton-Wallace Funeral Home, 91 Central Street, Auburn. Her funeral will be from the funeral home on Tuesday, August 19, 2014 with a funeral Mass at 10 AM in Saint Anne’s Church, 130 Boston Turnpike, Shrewsbury. Burial will follow in Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton.
