Obituary for Jane M O'Connor

Jane M. (Leary) O’Connor, 89, of Shrewsbury, passed away Friday, July 18, 2014 at the Beaumont Rehabilitation and Skilled Nursing Home in Northborough. Her husband, of 57 years, Francis R. O’Connor, passed away in 2005. She leaves her children, Eileen Ryan and her husband, Robert of Hopkinton and Michael O’Connor and his wife, Karen of Orleans, four grandchildren, Erin Baker and her husband, Stephen, Timothy Ryan and his wife, Emily, Sandy O’Connor and Casey O’Connor, and three great-grandchildren, Charlotte and Abigail Baker and Andrew Ryan.
Jane was born in Worcester, the daughter of William A. and Mabel (Belanger) Leary, and lived in Shrewsbury for 58 years. She was a graduate of South High School and Salter Secretarial School. She was a longtime nurse’s aide for the American Red Cross and an English as a Second Language tutor for Literacy of America for several years. She retired from St. Mary’s of Shrewsbury Religious Education Program.
The family wishes to thank the staff at Whitney Place and Beaumont Rehabilitation and Skilled Nursing Home in Northborough, as well as the Salmon Hospice, for the care and compassion shown to Jane during the last three years.
Relatives and friends are invited to visit with Jane’s family on Wednesday, July 23, 2014 from 9:30-10:30 AM in the Britton-Shrewsbury Funeral Home, 648 Main St, Shrewsbury followed by her funeral Mass at 11 :00AM in Saint Mary’s Church, 640 Main St, Shrewsbury. Burial will be in Mountain View Cemetery, Shrewsbury.
