Ruth A.  Shattuck
Auburn/Ocala, Fl-Ruth A. (King) Shattuck, 70, of Ocala, Florida, formerly of Auburn, died Thursday March 27, 2014 in Legacy House Hospice in Ocala, after an illness.
Ruth was born in Southbridge, daughter of the late Walter A. and Muriel S. (Dumais) King. She graduated from Auburn High School in 1961.
She owned and operated the family business, King's Spa in Auburn for more than 20 years before she retired and moved to Florida. While in Florida, Ruth owned and operated her own business for several years until her husband became so ill that Ruth retired, again, to take care of Gerald. After Gerald passed, Ruth volunteered at the Center for the Blind and a hospital in Ocala, before she became ill.
Her husband, Gerald Shattuck died in 2002. She leaves her beloved sister, Bette A. (King) Bylund, Elia of Auburn, her sister's children, Craig D. Bylund (Lynn Garneau), Jeffrey J. Bylund, April A. Isenhoff (Robert), and Julie M. Walsh (Timothy): her step-daughter, Wendy Pariseau of Holden, her step-granddaughter, Tia of Holden. She is predeceased by two brothers, Richard H. King and Paul A. King. And many nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are invited to visit with Ruth's family on Saturday, April 5, 2014 from 8:45 - 9:30 AM in the Britton-Wallace Funeral Home, 91 Central Street, Auburn. Her funeral Mass will follow and be celebrated at 10 AM in Saint Joseph's Church, 189 Oxford Street, North. Burial will be in Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton.
