Obituary for Herbert Felton Clark

Herbert Felton Clark passed away, December 18, 2012 at his daughter’s home in Boylston, MA. He was 80.

Felton was born February 11, 1932 in Anniston, AL. He is preceded in death
by his parents Ocie and Fanny Clark, sister Alliene Lett and brothers Daniel and Harold. His former wife, Marianne McKenzie Clark, precedes him in death.

Felton attended Anniston High School before enlisting in the Air Force. Following the military he graduated from Belmont College in Nashville, TN.

Felton worked for many years in the printing industry, retiring from the Tennessee Baptist Convention. Following his official retirement he served on the staff of Woodbine Baptist Church, coordinating the homebound ministry.
In 2006 he moved to Massachusetts and for a time served as a volunteer with the Baptist Convention of New England.

He is survived by his daughters Allyson Clark of Boylston, Massachusetts and
Susan Clark of Franklin, Tennessee.

Felton possessed a great servant’s heart. He loved to help behind the scenes. He enjoyed cooking and baking for groups and individuals. For many years he was known as the “Candyman” for his famous peanut brittle, which took first place in the Tennessee State Fair.

Felton was an avid fan of Red Sox baseball, SEC Football and watching game shows.

In his last years Felton participated in the Summit Elder Healthcare Program attending the East Mountain Street Center. He enjoyed the love and support of the staff, van drivers and home support.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, December 22, Hope Chapel, 35 Chocksett Road, Sterling, MA. Visitation will take place at the church beginning at 12:30 p.m.
