Obituary for Clair M. Henry (Lennon)

ATTLEBOROUGH, MA - Clair M. (Lennon) Henry, died peacefully in her home with her loving family on Saturday, November 24, 2012. She was born in Pawtucket, Rhode Island on February 22, 1935; daughter of the late John F. and Mary A. (Billington) Lennon. She grew up in Pawtucket and graduated from Tolman High School with the class of 1952.

She was introduced to her husband and best friend, Dominick A. Henry in 1953; they were engaged in August of 1954 and married on June 25, 1955, Dominick died in 1982 after a wonderful 27 year marriage. She is survived by her loving children, Brenda A. Schofield of Attleboro, Mary P. Aguiar and her husband, Joseph of Bristol, RI, Master Sergeant Kevin M. Henry and his wife, Denise of Somerset, Brian P. Henry of Attleboro, Shannon M. Henry of Shrewsbury, Timothy A. Henry and his wife, Lori of Attleboro and Sheila M. Henry- Meier and her husband, Thomas of Attleboro with whom Clair made her home. She will be greatly missed by her grandchildren, Neal W. Schofield and his wife, Melissa, Shannon M. Lagarto and her husband, Daniel, Katelin E. Aguiar, Lindsey A. Herrity and her husband, Patrick, Erich M. Henry, Abaigeal K. Henry, Hannah E. Meier, and twins, Olivia G. Meier and Amelia G. Meier. Clair also leaves her brother, John W. Lennon of Little Compton, RI; cousins, nieces, nephews, and special family friends, Gennaro Ambrosino and the Calderone family.

Clair was a loving and devoted wife, mother, and Nana to all. She was always active in her children’s and grandchildren’s lives and was very proud of all their accomplishments big or small. Clair’s life was filled with a rich Irish Heritage and she was very proud of being from Rhode Island. Some of Clair’s favorite places to travel to were Bermuda, Washington D.C., San Diego, CA, and many seaside resorts throughout New England.
She found an appreciation at a young age for music as a soloist and later in life enjoyed musicals and Broadway shows. Clair was a communicant of St. John the Evangelist Parish in Attleboro.

Calling hours for Clair will be held on Tuesday, November 27, 2012 from 4-8 PM at Duffy-Poule Funeral Home, 20 Peck Street, Attleboro. Her funeral will be on Wednesday, November 28, 2012 from the funeral home with a funeral Mass celebrating her life at 11 AM at Saint John the Evangelist Church, 133 North Main Street, Attleboro. Burial with be with her husband in Mount St. Mary’s Cemetery, in Pawtucket RI. Clair had a great love for children and has requested that donations be made in her memory to The Ronald McDonald House, 45 Gay St. Providence, RI 02905. Funeral arrangements have been lovingly entrusted to her daughter, Shannon and the Staff of Britton Funeral Homes of Shrewsbury and Auburn.
