Obituary for Marjorie Helen Lovell

S. Portland, ME/Auburn, MA-Marjorie Helen (MacKay) Lovell, 92, formerly of Auburn, MA, passed away on November 12, 2012, in the South Portland Nursing Home in South Portland, ME.
Marjorie was born in Worcester, MA, on July 11, 1920 to Currie and Mildred (O'Connor) MacKay of Nova Scotia, Canada and Worcester, MA.
Marge's greatest joy was her three daughters, seven grandchildren, six great -grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild. She enjoyed sharing in all of their activities and accomplishments and took great pride in the fact that she was the "matriarch" of 5 generations.
After graduating from high school, Marge rode the train to Boston every day to get her degree from Boston College. For the next thirty years Marge enjoyed working as a title examiner and Trustee for Taylor-Abstract Co.
Marge married the love-of-her-life and true "soul-mate," Richard (Dick) Lovell, in May of 1943. When Dick returned from the war, they started their family and enjoyed a long and loving 55 years of marriage. After they retired, Marge served as treasurer for First Congregational Church in Auburn, sewed beautiful quilts for her family, volunteered for the community at election time and, her favorite, just spending time with Dick. They also enjoyed taking long day-trips in the car and visiting their family in Colorado and Maine.
Marge was pre-deceased by her parents, her brother, Carl MacKay, and her loving husband, Dick. She is survived by her three daughters Ann Desrosiers (Russell), Sandra Moses (Dean), Cynthia Freeman (Brian); seven grandchildren Angel, Terri, Pam, Sarah, Jared, Amanda, Rick; six great-grandchildren Kera, Ryan, Eric, Calvin, Gillian, Devin; and great-great-grandson Jacobi.
The family wishes to thank the wonderful, caring staff at South Portland Nursing Home for the love and support they provided Marge and her family. Marge was a favorite among the staff. They loved her fun-loving spirit, constant smile, and "sassy" mouth!!!!
A graveside service will be held at 12 Noon on Saturday November 17, 2012 in Hillside Cemetery Auburn.
In lieu of flowers please make donations to the S. Portland Nursing Home, 42 Anthoine Street South Portland, ME 04106
