Obituary for Patricia A. Hurley

Patricia A.  Hurley
WORCESTER-Patricia A. Hurley, 76, of Worcester, formerly of Brookline, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, November 13, 2012, at the Ichabod Washburn Hospice Residence after a long illness. She is survived by her sister Rosemarie Hurley of Worcester and Shrewsbury, her brothers Thomas Hurley, and his wife Loretta, of Oroville, WA, Fred Matthews, and his wife Barbara, of Tampa, FL, and John Matthews, and his wife Meriam, of Sarasota, FL. She is also survived by several loving nieces and nephews; especially close were her nephews and caregivers Tom Hurley, and his wife Kellie, and Michael Hurley, and his wife Amy, all of Worcester.
Patricia was born in Worcester. She was the daughter of the late Francis J. and Aurore K. (Charron) Hurley. She was raised in North Brookfield, by the late Vera Matthews and family, and graduated, with honors, from North Brookfield High School, class of 1954.
Patricia worked as a Para-legal, in the legal division, at the former New England Life Insurance Co. in Boston.

Patricia was a history buff, who enjoyed traveling with her many dear friends and her sister. After her retirement, she volunteered her time giving tours at the State House in Boston. She also volunteered at the Brookline Library and enjoyed reading to the elementary school children in the Brookline Schools.

Patricia’s family would like to thank the wonderful staff at the Ichabod Washburn Hospice Residence, for their compassion and care provided to her and the family.

After cremation, a memorial mass will be held Saturday November 24, 2012 in Our Lady of the Angels Church, 1220 Main Street Worcester. Burial will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Ichabod Washburn Hospice Residence, 1183 Main Street, Worcester, MA 01606.
